As the name implies, a solar phone charger harnesses the power of the sun (a.k.a solar energy) to provide electrical energy to your gadgets or charge the battery. The advantage of these portable gadgets is that they don't require an external electrical energy source to work, making them great for outdoor enthusiasts or individuals who many not have access to a power outlet right now (like if you're at a music festival in the middle of the desert or midway through a beautiful walking).

At the Good Housekeeping Institute, we check tech items from water resistant speakers to gas leak detectors. To test solar charges, we take them to our standard light space and time for how long it takes to completely charge each system.
